of the program
Ukraine Calling targets individuals occupying responsible positions in organizations from the field of civil society, education, culture, politics, media, public administration and economy that would like to expand their knowledge about Ukraine. Over the course of various seminars and workshops participants will be assisted in acquiring necessary knowledge and competences that are relevant in contemporary Ukrainian context. Besides that, the program facilitates interdisciplinary exchange and trans-sectoral network-building between various actors working on a bilateral and multilateral basis that should eventually lead to the implementation of common projects.
The German-speaking space offers rather few opportunities to acquire profound knowledge about Ukraine – its history, politics, media landscape, language and literature. This raises the importance of strengthening competence with regard to Ukraine in the key areas, where wider proliferation of knowledge about the second biggest state in Europe is required. The project aims to improve the current situation and establish a platform for sustainable international cooperation.
Ukraine Calling is coordinated by European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) in cooperation with Robert Bosch Foundation and the German Association of Ukrainianists.
